Hubby has been hinting at wanting a new dog the last few weeks. Knowing him one day he would have just shown up with one someday and not given us a chance to pick the puppy out, I was giving the idea some serious thought.
Last Thursday on the way to soccer practice, big kidlet and I saw this little white speck trying to go across a very busy road by our house. The poor thing almost got run over 5 times while I sat helplessly watching. So I made a uturn and went and picked it up out the road. We brought her home, hoping to find the owner, which we did the next day.I saw the love my children had for a new dog and how much it made them happy and reluctantly agreed with hubby to go look for another dog. So Friday afternoon right before the animal shelter closed we went. I wasn’t expecting to find a dog that day, normally the animal shelter is filled with pit bulls or older dogs that just aren’t kid friendly or should I say toddler friendly.
First hubby and big kidlet fell in love with a black lab, she was a sweet dog, but a bit too jumpy for my taste especially with an almost two year old in the house. Then as we walked the kennels we found her, a puppy, 9 weeks old, with her mommy. I just knew she was ours, we left the choice up to big kidlet and he chose the puppy. So we took her home and named her Daisy. Except for some potty accidents she’s been a really good puppy. She’s a sweet girl and everyone, even our other dog Angel loves her.
Today when I went outside with the princess I decided to take some pictures of Miss Daisy, one thing I learned was taking pictures of a new puppy is harder than taking pictures of a toddler. Enjoy!
