After some thought and prayer…

I have decided to change my prices. I know you are saying, what again. I will be honest, pricing is something I have struggled with since deciding to open this business. I’ve gone back and forth on what I should charge. I’ve fallen into the trap of everyone should charge boutique prices, but I’m not sure that is me. And I know having such prices, makes me unaffordable for a lot of people.

So after much thought and prayer, I have decided to make myself more affordable . I think everyone deserves nice photographs and memories.

Here are the new prices:

Mini Session -  $75

Session includes the photographer’s time, talent, hand editing of 5+ images and a CD of those images with a print release. This session last 30 minutes at the location of your choice

Full Session – $200

Sessions includes the photographer’s time, talent, hand editing of 20+ images and a CD of those images with a print release. This session last 60-90 minutes at the location of your choice.

Newborn Session -  $300

Sessions includes the photographer’s time, talent, hand editing of 20+ images and a CD of those images with a print release. This session last 2-3 hours in the comfort of your home.

Memories last forever.. {New Orleans Family Photographer}

An article I read tonight on Yahoo said that by 2020 we will see the end of recordable cd’s and dvd’s.  I knew this was coming some day but I didn’t think it would be this soon. But it’s one of the reasons I decided to give my clients usb flash drives with their images on them vs a cd in a pretty case.  Flash drives have a longer life span and aren’t as easily damaged. Plus in 10 years when computers no long have CD drives, you will still be able to access your pictures on your flash drive.

But what about 20, 30, even 50 years from now. Will flash drives even be around? I can see the scene now. Your grandkids going through the attic and looking at things from the past and then come across 100s of little flash drives or even cds that say pictures: first birthday. But they have no clue what to do with these things, or how to get the pictures off of these little devices. And all those family memories are gone forever.

I know if you are like me you have files upon files of images sitting on your computer or baked up to an external hard drive and double backed up to a cloud device. But when was the last time you printed those images? Even if they sit in a box, unscrapped, unfiled, unorganized, it’s better than them sitting on our computers. Why? Because on our computers, no one gets to see them or love them or hear the stories behind them. When our grandkids go through our attics in 30 years, they will find memories not old fashioned technological devices. Memories that take us back in time to a happy place. Memories that tell the stories of our families. This is why printing the pictures is so important, it is also why with every package you get not only the digital images from your session but prints.

I do this because I think the memories, moments and stories the pictures tell are more important than the images themselves. Memories are forever, and pictures help those memories come to life.  I hope I can help make that happen for your family this holiday season.
